We remove all impurities, such as tar and PAHs. You are left with a clean liquid with a smoky flavour that you can use in many ways. Even for cross-linking.

Flexibility in applications
Ruitenberg Ingredients offers smoke condensates with different flavour profiles, such as hickory and beech. We can supply them in liquid, powder, water-soluble or oil-soluble forms. You can add them directly to the product or process, such as dipping, drenching or atomizing. So you can give your meat, fish, plant-based products, cheese, sauces or marinades a tasty smoky flavour. New rules
European Commission decision
In April 2024, the EFSA concluded that smoke flavourings could be harmful. So, the European Commission has banned them. As a producer, you have a transition period to change your recipes.
• Meat, fish and cheese: until July 2029.
• Crisps, nuts, soups, sauces, dressings, marinades and spice mixes: until July 2026.
We will be happy to work with you in this transition process. Our new FumX range is ready for the future.
And we will keep supplying liquid smoke until the new rules apply.

In our Tech Centres in Twello, we work together with you to develop the best new concepts, from functional ingredients to final products. We discuss ideas, develop and test until you are satisfied. We do this on our machines from several renowned suppliers, with whom we work closely together. Our R&D team will help you implement it into production. So that you can be sure the concept works.
